We met a client at a show we exhibited at back in the spring who commissioned us to make her a bespoke table. Her kitchen was being built at the time and she knew that she had limited width to play with - she needed us to make her a long, narrow table with a couple of matching benches that could be tucked underneath and out of the way when not in use. While on the stand at the show she really liked the look of our Thorncombe table, but wanted something with a more contemporary aesthetic. She wanted a very simple, clean design that would sit well in her modern kitchen.
We supplied her with a scaled drawing of the proposed design.
She booked in a visit to the workshop so that she could have a look at different samples of timber and finish. We decided that prime oak with our raw oiled finish would best complement both the contemporary design and the setting.
The day before delivering the table, we popped into our photographers' studio to get a few shots. The contemporary design worked really well in the slightly rustic setting of the shoot.
Another potential client got in touch while we were making this table. He too liked the simplicity of our Thorncombe table, but wanted something with a more contemporary feel. We sent him some photos of the ongoing project, talked through dimensions and he decided to commission the same design.
